this image was taken in east greenwich, ri, usa - on the opposite shore of the previous three images. again, i love the earthy tones and the teal water, contrasting the cold, harsh white of the snow and ice.
the title came to me after a moment of free thought; i imagined a mermaid, or some other mythical aquatic creature sitting atop the rock and moaning out a sad song over the water to an unknown or lost love. something or someone that would never return.
